Like the monument next to it, this early 20th century statuary is one of the finest of its kind in the island and not easily bested. Exquisitely carved in Carrara marble, the monument boasts very high detail , especially in the Celtic Cross which has wreaths and fruit . The figure of a woman has lost its face , which lies in splinters at the foot of the grave. It is exquisitely detailed and executed in flawless white Carrara marble which has a fine molecular composition which lends itself to minute detail in sculpture.
