I411 Louis Schnebelin His birth in 1830 in Bantzenheim is confirmed. He migrated at the age of 39 from Mulhouse to New York in October 1869 with his wife (Christine Ketterlin who was 36 years at the time of migration) and 4 children (all apparently boys) (Emile age 7, Paul age 5, Joseph age 4, and Louis age 1) . Prior to leaving Alsace he had worked as a servant (domestique). Note that Christine Ketterle (I424 in our data base) was originally named Christine Ketterlin and her birth date of 1833 is confirmed).

Note
Paul who lived in a beautiful brick rowhouse on Arsenal St. opposite Tower Park in St. Louis, and another son who fathered the Louis I met in 1940 plus several other children. Paul married an Irishwoman named Mulloy and had two children, Lucille, w ho was a crack accountant and C.P.A. for Price Waterhouse, a lover of music and the arts, a great friend of mine who died young about 1959; and Richard "Dick," who served in the Navy, married a woman who had a child by a previous marriage, was a mailman, and was still listed in the St. Louis telephone directory in 1975. The line was disconnected, so perhaps he retired elsewhere, or died.
Note
From Cathy Haas, Richard's daughter: By the way I still live in St. Louis. For awhile after my Aunt Lucille died I lived in the house on Arsenal, but I sold it back in 1972.
